Rick Little
Head Coach
Offensive Coordinator- QB/DB
Coach Little is an alumnus of Carthage High School and was an All-State quarterback for the Blueboys his senior year. He then played at Augustana College and later transferred to Blackburn College where he was team captain, pre-season All-American and is their all time leading passer. Coach Little currently holds 15 single season/career records at Blackburn College. While in college Rick was scouted by Green Bay Packer scout Lee Gissendaner. Coach Little has had stints in the indoor arena football league where he was the starting quarterback for the Flint (MI) Flames, St. Louis Renegades and the Show Me Believers. Coach Little has spent time as a teacher and coach at Edwardsville High School, Quincy High, and Hamilton where he got his first head-coaching job. As a head coach in Hamilton, Coach Little made the playoffs in his first year breaking the schools ten year playoff absence and his teams made the playoffs four times in his five years. In 2006, Coach Little won a conference championship, finished with an undefeated regular season and advanced to the 3A state quarterfinals while leading his team to an 11-1 record and a state ranking. Last season, Little's Blue Devils finished with a 7-2 regular season record and advanced to the 6A state playoffs. Coach Little has received two "Coach of the Year" awards, one in 2006 by the Burlington Hawkeye and last season from the Quincy Herald Whig. Coach Little is a Dean of Students at Quincy Senior High School and has a MA in Education from Lindenwood University. Coach Little and his wife, Julie, reside in Quincy and have 3 children, son Bradyn (4), daughter Brooklyn (2) and newborn son Bryson.

Defensive Backs Coach VarsityVarsity Coach | Demond Dade is the defensive backs coach, who is entering his 5th year with the Blue Devil program. He spent first two years as an assistant coach for the QJHS 7th and 8th grade football teams before transferring to the varsity program. Coach Dade played basketball for JWCC, where he received an A.S.S. degree in Applied Fire Science, and is a Lieutenant on the Quincy Fire Department. In 2008, Coach Dade was an All-Star cornerback for the Quincy Spartans, an 8FL semi-pro team. Coach Dade is also the assistant coach for the QHS freshman girl’s basketball team. Offense and Defensive Line Coach VarsityVarsity Coach | Coach Wosman is the offense and defensive line coach for the Blue Devils with over twenty-five years of coaching experience. He is a graduate of Quincy College with a degree in Physical Education. He has previously coached at Quincy University,Quincy Notre Dame and Culver-Stockton College. Jim was also a outstanding baseball player. Jim was taken in the 8th round of the 1967 Major League Baseball Draft by the Detriot Tigers with the 155th pick overall. Varsity Assistant VarsityVarsity Coach | Coach Finklea has been with the Blue Devil football program for 6 years and has served the Blue Devils in many roles. Coach Finklea is back with the varsity after serving as the 8th grade head coach in 2008. He has previously coached in Indiana for 8 years prior to moving to Quincy. Defensive Line Coach VarsityVarsity Coach | Randy Dickens is in his second season as an assistant coach under Coach Little. Dickens was the first head coach of the Quincy College Hawks football team when it was resurrected in 1986 and served in that role for the next five years. He later became head coach at at Quincy High School where he coached the Blue Devils from 2002-2006. Dickens started his coaching career nearly 30 years ago as a graduate assistant coach at Indiana University. After three years there he moved on to coaching stops at Wabash College and Rose Holman University until reaching Quincy. Dickens, a native of Bloomington, Indiana, played collegiate ball at the University of Richmond (Va.) until suffering a knee injury and transferring to Indiana University where he earned his B.S. degree in Physical Education in 1976. He earned his M.S. degree in Physcial Education from DePauw University. Dickens also currently serves as a Dean at Quincy High School. Defensive Coordinator-RB/LB VarsityVarsity Coach | Coach Cook is an alumnus of Carthage High School and an All-Conference running back and defensive back his senior year. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Western Illinois University. The 2010 campaign will be his 8th season coaching with Coach Little. In 2006 as the defensive coordinator with the West Hancock Titans, his defense only allowed 86 points in 12 games, which is an average of 7.16 points per game. Coach Cook previously taught Title I in Hamilton and currently teaches at the Quincy Junior High School. Offensive Line Coach JVJV Coach | Coach Wildrick is entering his fourth year as a coach with the Blue Devils. This season he will work closely with the Blue Devil sophomore team. Head Freshman Coach FreshmanFreshman Coach | Coach Nicholson is an alumnus of Quincy Notre Dame High School and was an All-Conference offensive and defensive linemen his senior year. Coach Nicholson graduated from Quincy University with a bachelors degree in Special Education and has a Masters of Education in School Administration. Coach Nicholson is currently teaching at Quincy High School. Defensive Coordinator FreshmanFreshman Coach | Coach Taylor is an alumnus of Hamilton High School and is a former player of Coach Little’s staff during his tenure at Hamilton. Coach Taylor was an all-state FB and LB in 2006. He also finished his high school career as the all-time leading rusher in West Hancock history. Currently he is attending Quincy University and was on the Hawk football team before having a career ending ankle injury.
